When the misses and I were young... hm, I mean, younger... we used to travel to the UK a lot, especially the South of England and the West Country, we even honeymooned in Cornwall. But somehow we lost sight of this beautiful country the last 15 years (busy travellling the world and so on... ;-)), except for our yearly trips to London, of course. Last year, we picked up on our tradition again and went on two trips, one to Rye and one to Canterbury. For this year's family trip, we decided to visit the lovely seaside town of Whitstable, which is only a 45 minute drive from Dover. We drove the car on the ferry at Calais and enjoyed a wonderful sunny crossing on board of one of the P&O ferries, called 'The Spirit of France'. An hour and a half later, we were already were admiring the famous White Cliffs of Dover. I completely forget how much fun it is to arrive in England by boat!...

The apartment (called Kallimento) was quite new, beautifully decorated and had three bedrooms and a nice terrace. The young lady in charge of it, is really friendly and helpfull! It doesn’t come with a pool, but is within easy reach of a number of stunning beaches. There is a local supermarket within walking distance which makes it easy to prepare a nice lunch at the apartment, should you want to do so....
Last week my family and I travelled for four days to Malta and three days to Sicily for a short break during our Easter Holidays. Ryanair offers cheap flights from Eindhoven Airport (could this possibly be the easiest airport in the world?) and Malta and Catania are only a 30 minutes flight apart. Ideal combination!...
I am an absolute fan of Spanish cities. Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia... they all have that certain laid back summery feel about them which I simply adore. Although I have to admit, Barcelona still remains my old-time favourite, Seville comes a good second. After visiting this gorgeous city twice before, it was time earlier this week to head back for a short two night trip with the misses....
